Ron Ringer

Ron is Managing Director of Syntax and holds a Master of Arts in History from the University of New South Wales (1991), a B.A. Hons in Economic & Social History from the University of Nottingham (1974), and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Liverpool (1975).

Ron is a member of the Australian Society of Authors, and was recently admitted to the Australian Society of Professional Historians.

Ron Ringer has been commissioned by many of Australia’s leading financial service providers, academic institutions and corporations to provide strategic communications and consulting services on large documentation and publishing projects. He is also an independent historian and the author of nine HSC textbooks for publishers, including Pergamon Press, Maxwell Macmillan, Pascal Press and Macmillan Education Australia.

Ron’s first business history, A History of Elgas, was published in March 2004. His latest book, The Brickmasters, 1788–2008, was commissioned by Brickworks Limited in 2004 and published in September 2008 by Dry Press Publishing. The work explores the impact of bricks and the brick industry on the social and economic history of Sydney and its built environment with particular reference to Austral Bricks.

Ron was recently commissioned by the Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation to write a history of the organisation.

Will Belford

Will Belford

Will Belford holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in History from the University of Sydney (1988). Will runs his own communications consultancy, Style Merchants Pty Ltd., and partners with Syntax on significant projects.

With over twenty years of experience in written communications Will has worked on a wide range of communications projects across many industries. Will’s communications work includes managing mass communications campaigns, writing journal articles, press releases, websites, product brochures, tender applications, call centre scripts and all manner of technical and user documentation. He is also an expert in online information design and knowledge management.
